Director

Career
To become a Director at Plesner, you must have worked as a lawyer or advisor for at least four years, building significant knowledge and business understanding within your practice area, and contributing to maintaining relationships with your clients, while fully meeting the expectations of a manager at Plesner.

The next step in your career development is to take on a larger role in the managing of more complex projects at Plesner, the development of younger lawyers, as well as take more responsibility in client development and sales. The title of Director can be a step towards becoming Senior Counsel or Partner.

What Does Success Look Like?

With a few years of experience as a director, we expect you to deliver excellent service to our clients, build and maintain client relationships, and nurture the next generation of young lawyers, while continuing to evolve in your role as an advisor.

Your Role in Projects

As a director, you will lead our more complex projects to the satisfaction of clients and colleagues. You manage to stay ahead of the process, ensuring effective processes across teams, and a high level of information shared with the team and client as well as the often numerous internal and external stakeholders. You are a role model for Plesner's collaborative culture and work to ensure the well-being of all colleagues on your projects. Your proactivity makes efforts to ensure that everyone feels as an important part of the team, making you a sought-after project leader.

Your Role in Leadership

You will continuously evaluate select lawyers from your department with an experience of 1-2 years, focusing on their professional and personal development. In collaboration with a partner, you will conduct three annual feedback meetings, guiding the lawyers in providing high-quality advice on cases and motivating them in their continued development. Your commitment to their success makes you a sought-after leader.

Your Role in Client Development and Sales

In collaboration with a partner, you manage and develop several strategic clients within your practice area. You are involved in client-oriented efforts, such as pitches, offers, meetings, and marketing activities, such as seminars, conferences, and articles. You will also participate in business development and engage in the development or improvement of our services. Your ability to address our clients' needs and build relationships makes you an advisor that our clients seek out directly.

To me, contributing to building and maintaining client relationships is a natural and exciting part of my daily work as a lawyer. Historically, client development may have been a partner-level task, but as a director at Plesner, I was often in just as frequent and close contact with clients.
