EU and Competition Law
Practice areaThe team includes several in-house economists with the highly specialised skills required to handle the complex economic approach of competition law practice. Experience has shown that the close interaction between the team's economists and lawyers creates outstanding value for the clients, including the comprehensive strategic considerations surrounding, for instance, complex merger control, cartel, and damages cases.
We have provided advice on most of the important cartel cases investigated by Danish competition authorities, as well as the majority of EU cartel cases involving Danish companies. We are the only Danish law firm to have participated in both the European Commission's leniency and cartel settlement procedures. We also have experience in a significant number of the most important cases concerning abuse of a dominant position, including the largest ever abuse case in Denmark.
Our team has handled a number of significant competition-law-related damages actions, including the largest ever cartel-related damages action in Denmark. We are currently leading the advice on the largest-ever damages action in Denmark, which pertains to the abuse of a dominant position. Outside of Denmark, the team has also been involved in a number of cartel-related damage actions.
We have seen an increase in large and complex merger cases, and we have been involved in most of the recent mergers involving Danish companies with EU and multinational filings. Our experience includes advising on Denmark's largest ever merger, subject to EU and multinational filings, as well as one of Europe's largest ever private placements.
