
Rie Paving Mortensen
Rie’s competition law expertise encompasses complex mergers, particularly phase II cases, international cartels, and complex cases involving abuse of a dominant position.
Rie has extensive experience with both cartel-related and non-cartel-related damage claims. She excels at establishing key elements of counterfactual scenarios, handling settlement procedures, and managing court-appointed economic expert reports and testimonies.
Additionally, Rie prepares various types of economic analyses and conducts significant investigations in matters related to tax law, intellectual property law, and corporate M&A.
Rie holds a Master's degree in Economics, a Master's degree in Law from the University of Copenhagen, and a postgraduate diploma in EU Competition Law from King's College London.
Rie is the head of Plesner's Economic Analysis team, which consists of highly specialised economists.
Integrating economic insights into legal cases requires active collaboration across various professional disciplines. Rie consistently emphasises a strong cross-disciplinary approach to address the complex interplay between competition law and economics, ultimately benefiting Plesner clients.
