RWE sells 49% of the largest offshore wind farm in Denmark - Thor Wind Farm

Case News
Plesner has advised RWE on the formation of a strategic partnership with Norges Bank Investment Management, including the divestment of a 49% interest in Denmark's Thor offshore wind project.

With a planned capacity of approximately 1.1 GW, the Thor project is set to become Denmark's largest offshore wind farm and one of the most significant renewable energy infrastructure projects in Northern Europe.

The wind farm will be located in the Danish North Sea and is expected to deliver power to more than one million Danish households once operational. RWE will continue to lead the construction, operation, and maintenance of the project.

We are proud to have supported RWE, together with Freshfields, in this landmark transaction, which further strengthens Denmark's renewable energy leadership and the green transition.

Plesner's core team consisted of Niklas Korsgaard Christensen, Frederik Leth Keller, Rasmus Heinemann Sørensen, Mathias Heldgaard Harbel, Ulrik Krogh Holst, Lise Aaby Nielsen, Anne AagaardSara Sadolin, Emilie Lauenborg Breitenstein, and Helene Margrethe Grønbech Clausen.
