Environmental Law and Planning Law
Practice areaPlesner's highly specialised Environmental and Planning Law team consists of lawyers with extensive practical experience from both public authorities and private companies. We are known for our deep understanding of regulatory processes and our ability to navigate through complex legal landscapes in both commercial and political realities. We work closely with our clients and their technical advisors to deliver solutions that are both legally sound and practically applicable.
We have extensive expertise in a wide range of sectors, including energy, construction and civil engineering, transport, chemicals, waste management, manufacturing, and urban development. We specialise in managing projects that present unique environmental challenges, such as preserving protected nature and species, including habitat protection and Annex IV species, managing noise and other emissions, and managing soil contamination. We also have significant experience with environmental due diligence, having played key roles in M&A transactions involving Denmark's most environmentally heavy companies.
We assist both private companies and public authorities, including municipalities, in environmental and planning law cases, as well as enforcement issues. Our advice covers a wide range of topics, from environmental assessments and permitting processes to appeals and litigation, as well as ongoing advice to ensure compliance with environmental and planning legislation. We help businesses with complex legal issues related to the establishment and operation of construction, production facilities, and projects. Additionally, we have extensive experience with expropriation cases.
