Jónas Már Torfason
Jónas is an assistant attorney in Plesner's Banking and Finance team.
Jónas advises clients on all aspects of banking and finance, including direct lending and debt-capital markets transactions, acquisition finance, real asset finance, fund finance, ship finance, receivable finance, securitisation, and derivative transactions.
Jónas also advises clients in the financial sector on financial regulation, mainly with regard to alternative investments, capital requirements, derivatives, and fintech (including payment services and crypto-assets).
Jónas holds a BA and Mag.Jur. (which corresponds to a Master's degree in law) from the University of Iceland.
Prior to joining Plesner, Jónas worked at a tier 1 firm in Reykjavík, as a journalist and as executive director of one of the largest NGOs in Iceland.
Jónas is involved in numerous challenging projects that require a team effort to complete successfully. Members of other Plesner teams are often involved to ensure that we come up with the best solutions possible.
