Plesner caps busy year in financial services by acting on 7 CASP applications
In a rush among market participants to secure access to the transitional regime for crypto-asset service providers (CASP) under the EU MiCA Regulation, Plesner advised 7 different clients on the submission of their respective applications to the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority for license as a CASP. Under MiCA, existing businesses with a registration as a "virtual asset service provider" (VASP) under AML regulations had to submit an application for a CASP license by 30 December 2024 to be permitted to continue operating after 30 December 2024.
In very compressed processes, Plesner assisted each client with (1) incorporating a Danish company, (2) obtaining a VASP regulation under the AML Act, and (3) preparing and submitting a CASP license application.
Together with the recent acknowledgment by Chambers Fintech of Plesner as a Band 1 firm, 2024 has cemented Plesner's standing as a financial services market-leader at the forefront of not only "traditional" financial services but also innovative products and business models.
Plesner's teams on the applications were combinations of Rasmus Mandøe Jensen, Emil Deleuran, Jonathan Jordan, Simon Lindvig Rasmussen, Seher Atsiz, Jónas Már Torfason and Nicoline Helm Andersen.
