Solina group to acquire the premium culinary brands, OSCAR and Puljonki

The leading producer of food ingredient solutions, Solina group, has signed an agreement to acquire the premium culinary brands, OSCAR and Puljonki, and the related business divisions, from the Nestlé group. Plesner acted as lead legal counsel for the Solina group.

The Solina group has agreed to acquire Nestlé Professional Food A/S (to be renamed) and Puljonki Oy, which owns the brands, OSCAR and Puljonki, and related business divisions.

OSCAR and Puljonki are premium brands within culinary solutions, renowned for their stocks, fonds, bouillons, soups, and other sophisticated culinary aids. The brands primarily appeal to professionals in the foodservice industry, ranging from small businesses to industrial kitchens, with a unique chef-to-chef approach. With two manufacturing facilities located in Juuka, Finland, and Rønnede, Denmark, the business employs a total of 132 employees and had a combined revenue of EUR 40 million in 2023. In addition to Denmark and Finland, the brands also have significant presence within Sweden, Germany, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium.

The Solina group is a leading player within the food ingredient solutions industry and is active in 19 countries across Europe and North America, employing more than 3,600 people with EUR 1.2 billion in turnover.

The transaction is expected to be finalised prior to Q2 of 2024.
