This year, the team from the Aarhus University took the first place amongst the 8 teams selected for the Plesner Pre-Moot.

With the 2022 edition of the Plesner Pre-Moot successfully completed, we would like to thank all the teams for their enthusiasm and excellent performances over the two days of the Pre-Moot. We wish everyone all the best of luck for the main competition!

The 8 competing teams came from Bern (Switzerland), London (United Kingdom), Liège (Belgium), Odense (Denmark), Aarhus (Denmark), Pavia (Italy), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Cambridge (United Kingdom).

Experienced arbitration practitioners from Denmark and abroad also took part in the Plesner Pre-Moot to evaluate the teams' performance. We would like to thank all the arbitrators for their valuable insights and feedback, which will help the students refine their arguments and advocacy skills before the main competition in Vienna.

...and the first place goes to Aarhus University!

After a very exciting final round, the first place in the competition went to eight students from the Aarhus University.

The following teams made it to the top-three:

  1. Aarhus University (Denmark)
  2. University of Cambridge (United Kingdom)
  3. University of Copenhagen (Denmark)

As it is tradition at the Plesner Pre-Moot, a prize was also awarded to the best individual oralist. Congratulations to the winner, Clara Grønborg Juul, from University of Copenhagen.

Vis Moot

The annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot ("Vis Moot") has been running for 29 years consecutive and is the biggest and most prestigious moot competition world-wide in the field of international commercial arbitration. This year, the students are conducting a fictitious case about palm oil under the Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG).

The event plays an important role in shaping the new generations of dispute resolution practitioners and also offers a unique venue for experienced professionals to network and discuss contemporary issues of the trade.

Plesner continuously invests in future generations and wants to contribute to the development and sharing of knowledge across borders and legal practice areas. These are some of the reasons why Plesner is organizing an annual Pre-Moot as well as why a delegation of Plesner lawyers are coaching the Vis Moot-team of the University of Copenhagen.

Plesner will host another Pre-Moot in 2023.
