Marlin Equity Partners divests a minority stake in Medius
Marlin Equity Partners has divested a minority stake in Swedish software provider Medius to global private equity fund, Advent International.
Medius, founded in Stockholm in 2001, is a global leader in AP automation, B2B payments, sourcing and procurement software. Medius has more than 500 employees and serves thousands of customers across the globe, managing spend worth more than $180 billion annually.
Marlin Equity Partners, who retains a majority stake in Medius after the transaction, is a global investment firm with over USD 7.2bn of capital under management.
Plesner has previously assisted Marlin Equity Partners on a number of transactions in the Nordics, including the acqusition of Swedish logistic software provider Unifaun (now nShift) and its subsequent merger with Consignor (NO) and Webshipper (DK), the acquisition and sale of Danish software provider Bluegarden, the acquisitions of Norwegian software provider Puzzel and Danish software provider Heimdal Security, as well as Marlin's acqusition of Medius in 2017.
The transaction signed in March 2022 and closed on 13 April 2022.
This is another example of M&A transactions where Plesner acts as lead counsel on the relevant client’s acquisition or sale of businesses in Northern Europe based on our knowledge of a client’s business, culture and requirements.
