GDPR Training

Seminar
For some companies, municipalities, etc., there is a need for basic training for operational staff. We offer a tailored 2-day course where participants receive a fundamental introduction to GDPR, along with ideas and tools on how to apply the rules in practice. The course is flexible and can be held at our location or yours. It is also possible to collaborate with other municipalities or organisations for a joint course.

Since 2016, Plesner has offered the Plesner Certificate in Personal Data Protection Law training, which continues to see high participation rates. To date, we have conducted over 70 sessions.

Our certificate programme however, is a five-day course.

We are increasingly receiving requests from both municipalities and companies for a course specifically aimed at GDPR ambassadors and other employees within various departments, offices, business units, etc.

The desire has been for a shorter and more affordable course that can provide GDPR ambassadors and others with similar needs a fundamental introduction to GDPR, while also equipping participants with practical tools to implement the rules effectively within their organisations.

Therefore, Plesner has developed a two-day course that offers participants a fundamental introduction to GDPR, along with ideas and tools to apply the rules practically within your organisation.

We have previously conducted a tailored two-day course in a Greater Copenhagen municipality, and our experiences from this have been very positive.

Course Content

Day 1 - General Introduction to GDPR

  • The Importance of Data Protection
  • What is GDPR?
  • Overview of the Material Rules

Day 2 - Introduction to Practical Implementation and Controls

  • Implementation of Policies and Procedures in the Municipality
  • Self-Monitoring of the Municipality's Compliance with the Rules
  • Audit
  • The Data Protection Authority’s Expectations for Municipalities

The idea is for Plesner to come to your location to conduct the training, so you don’t need to spend time on travel.

There will be no limit on the number of employees who can participate, and you can potentially collaborate with other municipalities or companies to keep costs down.

Instructor

The training will be conducted by attorney-at-law, senior counsel Jesper Husmer Vang

Jesper is the deputy head of Plesner's Data Protection Law team and has been working with data protection law since 2006. Before joining Plesner in 2019, Jesper was Head of the Data Protection Authority's Supervisory Unit.
