Plesner sends international law students off to a flying start for the 26th international Vis Moot Competition

For the third year running, the Plesner Pre-Moot returns in the spring 2019. The pre-moot, which will take place at Plesner's premises in Copenhagen on 28-29 March 2019, serves as a warmup and preparation for the 26th annual Vis Moot competition - the largest and most prestigious moot court competition in the world. During the pre-moot, the participants ("mooties") will have ample opportunity to test their arguments and pleading skills and will receive feedback from experienced practitioners from Denmark and abroad.

Each spring, the international arbitration community rallies in Vienna to take part in the annual William C. The Vis Moot thus plays and significant role in the education and shaping of the dispute resolution practitioners of the future, and furthermore offers a unique venue for experienced professionals to network and discuss contemporary issues of the trade.

Plesner continuously invests in future generations and wishes to contribute to the development and sharing of knowledge across borders and legal practice areas, including international dispute settlement. As of 2018, Plesner has further stepped-up is engagement in developing tomorrow's practitioners through a cooperation with the University of Copenhagen to coach the university's Vis-Moot team 2018/2019. The team, which is composed of hand-picked Masters students, will represent the school of law in several domestic and international pre-moots, as well as the main competition in Vienna.

Additionally, as the leading Danish law firm in the field of international dispute resolution, Plesner is organizing an international pre-moot for the third consecutive year.

Last year, 10 teams from different universities from around the world were selected to compete at the Plesner Pre-Moot under the eyes of a large group of reputable international practitioners acting as "arbitrators". Plesner expects to gather at least the same number of students and professionals for the 2019 edition.

The pre-moot will take place at Plesner’s offices in Copenhagen on 28-29 March 2019. The students will have opportunity to measure themselves against their peers, refine their arguments and to receive feedback from experienced arbitration practitioners before setting out for Vienna. The Plesner Pre-moot also offers the participating "arbitrators" a unique chance to share their knowledge and experiences with the students and other practitioners in an informal setting.
