The digital solution to the new personal data rules

Next spring, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) introducing new stricter rules will enter into force. Plesner and the software supplier RISMA have collaborated on the development of an overall digital solution that converts the legal requirements of the GDPR into practical and comprehensible tasks and procedures. The solution may be used by undertakings/enterprises, authorities and other organisations to ensure compliance with the new personal data rules.

The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which will enter into force on 25 May 2018, will affect all undertakings/enterprises, organisations and authorities in Denmark. The new rules apply to the processing and handling of all types of personal data and thus to data concerning both customers/clients, citizens and employees. This includes everything from basic information such as email addresses and telephone numbers to sensitive personal data concerning, for instance, health details and union membership.

The new personal data rules are to be applied differently from one organisation to another, depending on the personal data that are being processed and the purpose of such processing.

In order to meet the demand for an overview of how to comply with the new rules, Plesner and the software supplier RISMA have developed a digital solution that converts the legal requirements of the GDPR into practical and comprehensible tasks and procedures.

Two versions of the solution have been developed: A reduced version primarily aimed at small undertakings/enterprises and organisations that merely process personal data on a limited scale. And an extended version aimed at large undertakings/enterprises, authorities and organisations that allows individual adjustment to the requirements of each organisation and the possibility of carrying out a detailed analysis of the organisation's processing of personal data.
