Agreement on joint Nordic price procurement for medicinal products

On 18 September 2018, the Danish and Norwegian Ministries of Health signed an agreement regarding joint Nordic price procurement on medicinal products to public hospitals.

With the agreement, the Danish and Norwegian procurement organisations, Amgros and Lis, are encouraged to collaborate on joint price procurement on selected medicinal products.

The agreement is a tangible step towards realising the establishment of joint Nordic procurement for medicinal products with the purpose of ensuring favourable prices and supply security of medicinal products.

The agreement does not define the specific procedures for the potential collaboration between the Danish and Norwegian procurement organisations. Instead, the two organisations shall now enter into a collaboration agreement that defines the specific procedures for joint price procurement.

The remaining Nordic countries are encouraged to join the collaboration when the details of the collaboration between Denmark and Norway has been determined.
