Plesner GDPR e-learning

Undertakings, authorities and organisations will not have GDPR in place until all relevant members of staff have received the required training. Plesner has launched a GDPR e-learning programme which provides employees with exactly the knowledge about GDPR they will need in their daily work with personal data.

Plesner GDPR eLearning requires no special skills or knowledge about GDPR. The course can be completed flexibly, precisely when it fits into the individual employee's schedule. The entire course can be completed in approximately one hour and will provide documentation that the employee has gained the required knowledge about processing of personal data.

Employees do not have to know the GDPR rules. The important thing is that they will be able to identify personal data and potential issues on an everyday basis and have a fundamental understanding of the underlying principles.

Plesner GDPR e-learning can be completed at any time during the day when it fits into the employee's schedule.

The course can be completed by computer, tablet and mobile phone.

Plesner GDPR e-learning is available both in Danish and in English.

The individual employee will be able to monitor their own progress in the course, and the system can send reminders when a deadline is close to being exceeded

If yours is a large organisation, employees can be divided into sections, and you can appoint someone to be in charge who can actively monitor the employees' performances in status reports.

Status reports provide:

  • Lists of names of employees having access to the course
  • Scores on tests included in the course
  • The time an employee has spent on completing the individual modules and the entire course
  • The deadline the individual employee has been allocated for completion of the module and the course and has potentially exceeded
  • Status reports for each module and the course in terms of how many employees have commenced it without completing it, have not commenced it, or have exceed the deadline.

The legal content
The legal content in Plesner GDPR e-learning has been drafted by Plesner's Personal Data team, one of Denmark's leading teams of personal data experts headed by partner Michael Hopp. The Personal Data team has extensive hands-on experience of personal data in relation to undertakings, authorities and organisations. The team has used this knowledge to develop legal content that is easy to use in practice.

The teaching approach
Plesner GDPR e-learning has been developed in consultation with psychologists and creative experts and based on a well thought-out and customised learning concept by use of effective learning methods. It means that Plesner GDPR e-learning has an inspiring design with a high degree of interactivity and contains a wide range of concrete examples and varied exercises supporting the learning targets. The employees are involved and must actively make decisions.

The technical aspect
Plesner GDPR e-learning is technically flexible and is accessible by computer, tablet and mobile phone. Plesner GDPR e-learning is as a rule accessed through the Learning Management System (LMS) eloomi. If you already have an LMS for e-learning, Plesner GDPR e-learning can easily be integrated with your LMS.

Plesner's e-learning is available in, for example, AICC, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004 and Tin Can API files and is compatible with many LMS solutions such as SABA, SABA, Skillsoft, Workday, eloomi, Succesfactor and Fornastone. We recommend that large organisations use their own LMS.

GDPR e-learning - Description of modules

Plesner GDPR e-learning consists of seven modules. Each module has a professional focus, and the employee has a specific learning target. Each module is structured dynamically with various types of digital content providing the employee with professional knowledge of GDPR combined with specific examples from everyday life. The employee must solve a number of assignments related to the learning target for the individual module.

The modules are completed in succession from Module 1 to Module 7. This will ensure that the employee gets the most out of GDPR e-learning.

The course is concluded by a test with 25 questions. To pass the test, the employee must have 80% correct answers. If the employee does not pass the test, it will be retaken.

Module 2 - The scope of the legislation
Learning target: I can describe the scope of the legislation

Module 3 - The six fundamental principles
Learning target: I can apply the six fundamental principles

Module 4 - Processing of personal data
Learning target: I can explain what it means to "process" personal data, and can tell whom to contact if I am not sure what to do in a specific situation

Module 5 - Duty of disclosure and privacy policy
Learning targets: I can explain the meaning of duty of disclosure, and I know the relevant privacy policies

Module 6 - The rights of individuals
Learning target: I can recognise situations where the individual person has a right, and I know whom to contact

Module 7 - Personal data security
Learning target: I can identify a personal data breach and know whom to contact
