Novo Holdings, Sampension and European Energy establish investment fund
Case News
Novo Holdings, Sampension and European Energy have invested in aggregate 650 million DKK in a new investment fund, Renewable Energy Partnership I, managed by European Energy. The purpose of the investment fund is to purchase land areas in Denmark and Sweden, which shall serve as housing for onshore wind and solar energy parks. Through debt financing, the fund may invest more than 1.5 billion DKK. Plesner advised European Energy on the establishment of the investment fund.
The fund will be managed by European Energy, which will acquire and sell land areas and develop the onshore wind and solar energy parks on the land areas. Potentially, 4-6 gigawatts of green energy could be developed on the land areas acquired by the fund.
European Energy is a Danish company established in 2004, developing wind and solar energy parks and green energy solutions which meet global climate change.
Sampension is the third largest pension company in Denmark and has cooperated with European Energy in the past.
Novo Holdings was established in 1999 and is the Novo Group's holding company and manager of the investments of the Novo Nordisk Foundation.
