Nikolai Seltoft

Nikolai advises on intellectual property matters broadly and supports clients in aligning IP strategy with commercial objectives, both in contentious matters and in transactional settings.

He represents Danish and international clients in complex legal proceedings and disputes, including matters involving preliminary injunctions and preservation of evidence, and regularly acts in patent cases across a range of technologies, including both pharmaceutical and mechanical matters. Drawing on an international background, Nikolai has extensive experience structuring and negotiating licence agreements, research and development collaborations, and other technology transfer arrangements, including cross-border and multi-party deals, for clients ranging from start-ups and scale-ups to large multinational companies, including major pharmaceutical businesses.

Nikolai has rights of audience before the Danish High Courts and is also admitted to practise in California and New York. He holds an LL.M. from Stanford Law School and has also studied at Harvard University. He previously worked at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York.

Nikolai holds a Graduate Diploma in International Business from Copenhagen Business School and has lectured on European intellectual property law. He is (co-)author of several articles on intellectual property rights.
